Our Imperfect Plants are healthy and ready to grow, but they show a little more character than those in our main range. These plants may have some cosmetic quirks such as old pest damage, slight browning, twisted or stunted growth, or a few damaged leaves. None of these issues affect their long-term health, and every plant is checked by our team to ensure it’s rooted and ready to thrive in your care.

By choosing an Imperfect Plant, you’re giving a perfectly good plant a second chance. It’s a simple way to grow your collection while helping us reduce waste and make our production more sustainable. Each one is unique, with its own story and charm, perfect for anyone who values growth in all its forms.

Due to the nature of these plants, Imperfect Plants are not eligible for exchanges or refunds.

Philodendron subhastatum produces long, narrow, lance-shaped leaves with a smooth, bright green upper surface and a vivid cherry-red underside that flashes into view as the foliage moves. The contrast is dramatic and only intensifies as the plant matures. It is a climbing Philodendron that develops significantly larger leaves when given a moss pole to ascend, with mature foliage reaching an impressive length and taking on a more elongated, blade-like shape.

Origins

Native to the tropical forests of Colombia and Ecuador, Philodendron subhastatum grows as a hemiepiphyte, climbing from the forest floor into the mid-canopy. It is found in wet, humid forest at low to moderate elevations and remains uncommon both in the wild and in cultivation.

Soil and Substrate

Our Monstera and Philodendron Premium Potting Mix provides a peat-free, well-draining blend suited to this species. Water when the top 2–3 cm of substrate is dry. Bright, indirect light brings out the strongest red colouring on the leaf undersides and encourages larger foliage development.

Not the sorry copper coated aluminum.
Size: 16 AWG-100 ft
The wire is 16 gauge plenty big for my system. Heck, the wires supplied with my stereo, copomonet speakers, and amplifiers are about 20 or 24 gauge. I'm quite sure the wire will be more than suffeceint. I, m installing a mono sub amplifier a four-way amplifier to the sub amp outputs and the front of lines of the stereo. I'm gonna be pushing 20 speakers all except the sub woofer only pushing 100 watts a channel and the sub will push 150 watts. That makes 21 altogether. Not much just good clean sound. I've been working on the project going on 5 years now. Been bargain hunting, besides the work I've only got about $650 in the project. Can't wait to get it completed here around the end of July. Hopefully, it will sound great didn't want to pay anyone. Seen too many "professional" jobs that were subpar. I've seen some nightmares. Figured if l did the job then who could I blame at least I can only blame myself and didn't pay $1,000 for it. 😁🤔

It's a good one, buy it.
Size: 16 AWG-100 ft
Actual 5 stars! OFC, copper stranded wire, takes solder nicely when tinned, stiff and pliable enough to stay bent. covering melts INTO wire as expected. I was hoping for a good deal and got one.

Smaller than the original, but works well.
When I received it, it was so small that I thought it was a toy, or maybe for some 4cyl engine. It is significantly smaller than the original one. When I looked closer, the mount holes did line up, so I tried it. I did have to get shorter mount bolts. To my surprise, it works great! I don't know what the longevity will be, but it made it through a busy august! Considering the price and how small it is, I might just buy a second one to keep on board. Just in case.
