-------------------

The EX Tower by Solodallas is an exact reproduction of a recently discovered interactive combination of studio grade compression, expansion, optical limiting, boost and EQ effects. This delicately balanced circuit may very well be the missing link between many legendary guitarists known for their unmistakable tone and sustain.

This all-analog unit is a reproduction of the tone enhancing circuitry contained within the most widely used wireless system throughout the 1970's to mid 1980's, the Schaffer Vega Diversity System (SVDS). Emphatic users of the SVDS included Angus Young, David Gilmour, Eddie Van Halen, Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton, Peter Green, Joe Walsh, Don Felder, Elliot Randall, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir... and an endless list of legends who are responsible for some of the best guitar parts ever recorded.

Current Artists:

Keith Urban, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Chris Stein, Doug Aldrich, Richard Fortus (GnR), Scott Metzger, Isaiah Sharkey, Joe Bonamassa, Coco Montoya, Steve Stevens, Gilby Clarke, Lenny Kaye, Elliot Randall, Boris Grebenshikov, Billie Joe Armstrong and Angus Young. Iconic bassists include Pino Palladino, Sting, and Rudy Sarzo. Keyboard master Derek Sherinian also swears by it on organs and synths.

FEATURES (Front Panel)

  • INPUT knob controls our signature gain circuit that bumps the crucial low-mid frequencies responsible for giving live instruments punch and making them stand out in the mix (think Angus Young guitar tone). It simultaneously controls Ken Schaffer's signature compander circuit which levels the output of each individual frequency then feeds them into a studio grade expander to restore amplitude and remove unwanted compression artifacts. Companding also tames transients while accentuating harmonics to produce the sonic richness associated with “The Schaffer Sound”.
  • OUTPUT knob controls a powerful op-amp capable of delivering a whopping 30db of clean boost. This analog boost is perfect for making lead parts stand out, adding fullness to the signal going into the front end of a clean amplifier or pushing it into oblivion!
  • POWER rotary switch located on front panel for easy access.
  • POWER ON LEDs light up red when power is turned on
  • STATUS LED lights up green when effect is engaged (default mode)
  • AUDIO IN 1/4" jack  located on front panel for easy access.
  • AUDIO LEVEL VU meter displays realtime output signal strength

FEATURES (Rear Panel)

  • FOOTSWITCH 1/4" jack for effect bypass (effect ON when unplugged)
  • AUDIO OUT 1/4" jack to amplifier
  • BALANCED OUT XLR output
  • MODE switch to engage/disengage BOOST function
  • BYPASS SWITCH to engage/disengage OPTICAL LIMITER
  • OPTICAL LIMITER knob controls Ken Schaffer’s signature Opto-Isolator  limiter. This circuit transparently raises the overall output while protecting the signal from clipping or distorting unnaturally. This ‘brick wall’ optical limiter initially smooths out excessive attack then makes notes and chords naturally bloom back open to retain amplitude. This studio effect allows for perfect string separation and produces “sustain for days” at even the cleanest amp settings.

Revelation for the serious Bible student
      Format: Hardcover
The most complete discussion of Revelation I have read. Be aware it is written in a very academic style, so not for casual reading.

      Interesting!
      Format: Hardcover
I was surprised to see Schreiner in Revelation. I unfairly had him as a Paul guy only in my mind. It turned out those skills that he is well known for on Paul are found here. This commentary is, without doubt, a major work on Revelation. It walks in the room and joins the big boys. But just like the other champions of the modern major academic, exegetical commentaries this one takes an “eclectic” viewpoint. That’s the rage of the hour. Doesn’t make anyone too happy, but then again not too angry either. Like me, you may not take an eclectic approach but rather a specific viewpoint in one of the major categories. Will you still be helped by this commentary? I think you definitely will. What are its strengths? Impeccable scholarship stands out. Sometimes that’s a pile of dry bones, but here it has life. Here the scholarly “interacting” pays off. It begins in the Introduction and continues in the commentary proper. Here the interaction necessarily involves the different perspectives and that enlightens no matter where you come from. Another asset of this commentary is its tone. He fairly represents other viewpoints and humbly assesses and shares his own. I often don’t exactly agree, but he’s easy to follow. It’s easy for me to weigh as I’m looking at a fairly represented picture. I wouldn’t call the structure of Revelation as a whole a strength here. Perhaps that’s the collateral damage of an eclectic position, though he gives a serviceable outline. He does give, however, some nice thoughts on structure in the smaller periscopes. I’m convinced he sheds light in each passage no matter your overall prophetic outlook. Outside of one that lines up perfectly for you (rare), what more could you ask for? I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

      A Highly Anticipated Revelation Commentary!
      Format: Hardcover
Tom Schreiner is one of my favorite New Testament Bible commentators. Having used his Romans commentary (now in its second edition), as well as his commentaries on 1 Corinthians and 1-2 Peter and Jude, I recommend him highly! I read much of his shorter commentary on Revelation in the ESV Expository Commentary series, and found it to be a wonderful help to get my bearings on this challenging book. This full length Baker commentary I have been anticipating for several years and finally have gotten a copy. While I am not persuaded of his rather novel (and newly held!) view on the Millenium, called New Creation Millenialism, I find his basic approach to the book a wonderful antidote to both the more Dispensational and the more preterist approaches to the book. Schreiner's arguments that Revelation is highly symbolic and recursive (non-linear/recapitulatory) I have found extremely persuasive and greatly affect how one reads the Apocalypse.
