Learning to ride just got easier

Taking over from PINTO, the bigger SKØG features the same EPOK™ growing technologies, but rolls on bigger 16” wheels and yet weighs in at just 6.1kg. Whether new to riding, or moving up from the PINTO or another balance bike, the SKØG is the ultimate bicycle for your child to develop their riding on, learning easily, quickly and safely.

Our unique patented UP:SCALE growing frame design, and IN:GEAR two-speed drive system, allow you to easily transform the bike from a lightweight balance-bike, into a small pedal bike, then into a larger pedal bike as your child grows. The SKØG really is three bikes in one – replacing a separate balance bike, a conventional 14” and a conventional 16” bike.

Your child doesn’t need to ‘grow into it’ – with the SKØG, you ‘dial’ it down to fit them properly from the start, then as they grow and get stronger, the bike grows and develops with them. It fits better, and lasts longer than any other kids’ bike (see here for sizing help.)

Skøg Size & Modes

The SKØG rolls on 16” wheels and is the largest bike (at present!) in the Black Mountain EPOK range and is aimed at children around 4.5 years up, fitting those in the 102cm to 121cm height range, or until they are around 7 years old (depending on growth rate.) The SKØG can be ridden by taller or more confident riders as young as 4 year olds, starting off in balance bike mode, allowing them to gain confidence on the bike. Please use our sizing tool here to work out if the SKØG is right for your child based on their ability and height.

The SKØG really is three bikes in one – replacing a separate balance bike, and two conventional 14” and 16” bikes.

MODE 1

The SKØG starts life as a small lightweight balance bike, which is ideal for your child to learn on. This offers them the chance to gain confidence, getting used to the bike’s geometry, brakes and riding position before they transfer to the first pedal bike mode (we recommend running the bike in this mode for a while, even if your child can already ride, as it’s such a great way to allow them to get used to our bike’s responsive steering and brakes).

MODE 2

When ready, you simply install the included PowerPack – our neat upgrade that brings into play the cranks, pedals and our unique lightweight, oil free drive belt, transforming the balance bike into a small pedal bike. The small frame with a short wheelbase and ‘reach’, low saddle height and easy low geared pedalling allows the SKØG in this mode to be more like a conventional 14” bike, so smaller riders can get on the bike safely and easily, and earlier than with a normal bike.

MODE 3

Then as your child grows in size and confidence, you simply adjust the UP:SCALE frame and IN:GEAR system (see here for how this works) to transform the SKOG into a large pedal bike, which increases the frame size and gearing by about 20%, making the most of the easy rolling 16” wheel size, and lasting your child for longer.

Vader's Second Marvel Series Is Good!
Format: Paperback
This is actually the start of a second Vader series. The first one began, along with the new Marvel main Star Wars series, right after the Death Star was destroyed. That Vader series birthed the new characters of Doctor Aphra, Triple Zero, BeeTee, and Cylo. Now, that series has come to an end. THIS NEW SERIES IS GOOD! It picks up the moment that Anakin Skywalker awakes in his armor at the end of Revenge of the Sith. It chronicles the first steps of Darth Vader. We learn something new about the Sith. They do not create their own lightsabers. They must take a saber from a Jedi and make it their own. The Sith blades are red and only red. Why? Palpatine explains that the kyber crystals that power the sabers are living things within the Force. This is backed up by the Rogue One novel (it was either that or Catalyst). The crystals are rock, but they are also alive. In the hands of a Sith, the new owner uses the Dark Side to push all his pain into the crystal--until the crystal bleeds and turns the color of the beam red. I just think that is all sorts of awesome!

Vader when he still is Anakin
Format: Paperback
This comic picks up right where Episode III left off. Like directly. There's the whole "Noooooooooo" thing and everything. I liked seeing Vader when he is new to being a Sith. It really is Anakin under there still. Throughout the comic, that Anakin begins to fall away. I liked the mix of prequel and original trilogy aesthetic. Seeing Vader alongside clone troopers was very cool. The Grand Inquisitor even makes a cameo! I read the Dark Horse comics that took place right after Order 66 so certain aspects of this comic remind me of those. In this comic, there are jedi who took the Barash Vow prior to the Purge, so they are still out and about in the galaxy. Vader takes this opportunity to take a lightsaber and make it bleed. I really enjoyed this first volume in a new, ongoing comic series. I am absolutely excited for volume two. I give this volume a 5/5.

The Lord Vader Treatment
Format: Kindle
Love this Darth perspective. It potentially fills in some gaps in the timeline in the beginning of his transition. Loved the humor and the art.

A true Meghan Quinn masterpiece!! 😂✨
Format: Audiobook
🎧 Rules for the Summer by Meghan Quinn Narrated by Stella Hunter, Shane East, Cassandra Medcalf & Gary Furlong A true Meghan Quinn masterpiece!! 😂✨ I laughed my a** off from beginning to end, and the narration honestly could not have been more perfect. Every narrator absolutely nailed their character and brought all the chaotic, hilarious, emotional, and spicy moments to life so well that I never wanted this audiobook to end. And the accents?! Absolute chef’s kiss 🤌🔥 They made the listening experience even more fun and immersive. Theo and Henley were such a fun couple to follow. The banter, chemistry, tension, and absolute ridiculousness between them had me smiling nonstop. And Aunt Kitty and Rupert? ICONIC. Honestly, they stole so many scenes for me and added even more humor and heart to the story. This book had me laughing out loud one minute and fanning myself the next 🥵😂 The spice was definitely A LOT… but honestly, are we even surprised when it comes to a Meghan Quinn book? She always delivers the perfect mix of humor, romance, chaos, and steam. The audiobook production was phenomenal. Stella Hunter, Shane East, Cassandra Medcalf, and Gary Furlong made this story feel so immersive and entertaining. Their performances elevated an already fantastic story into one of those audiobooks you just never want to stop listening to. Absolutely loved this story and highly recommend the audiobook version! Happy Reading/Listening 🎧📚
